An Ordinary Meeting of the Institution of Structural Engineers was held at 11, Upper Belgrave Street, London, S.W.1, on Thursday, 8th February, 1946, at 5.30 p.m., Mr. Gower B.R. Pimm, M.Inst.C.E., M.I.Struct.E. (President), in the chair.
In this country the aluminium alloys have found their most commmon applications in the field of aircraft production (Fig. l), but elsewhere, in the United States, France and Germany in particular, their use for structural engineering purposes has already been widely explored. D.V. Pike
