Introduction to IPD

Changes to Chartered and Associate-Member Core Objectives for Initial Professional Development and Professional Review.

The Institution of Structural Engineers has now introduced an IPD scheme detailing the criteria that prospective members of the Institution will need to demonstrate that they have satisfied, at the time of their Professional Review. The new regulations replace the old scheme described in the Institution publication "Professional Development Incorporating a Record of Practical Training", dated February 1996. There are three sets of regulations, one leading to the Professional Review for Chartered Membership, the second leading to the Professional Review for Associate-Membership and the third leading to the Professional Review for Technician Membership.
