UK & Ireland

The core of IStructE’s membership is to be found in the UK and Ireland. There are 18 branches and three sections providing a strong regional network for IStructE members.

In the UK, IStructE has close ties to the other principal engineering institutions, and is a member of the Construction Industry Council and EC(UK).

In 2003 IStructE and the Institution of Engineers of Ireland signed a mutual recognition agreement, under the terms of which both institutions agreed work closely to strengthen the practice and standing of professional structural engineers in society, through the promotion of professional ethics, ongoing Continuing Professional Development, and involvement and participation of members in the activities of each Institution
