Construction Legislation Advisory Group

The Construction Legislation Advisory Group exists to provide expert knowledge to the institution on construction regulations and legislation. It has no formal meeting structure; however members are called upon when necessary to provide advice. Its terms of reference are:

To advise the staff member on policy pertaining to regulations and legislation related to construction issues and in particular:

• to monitor developments in building regulations, building control, and other related matters relevant to the construction industry
• to maintain contact with regulatory bodies as necessary for the Institution's interests
• to arrange that the Institution view of draft regulations relating to the construction industry, excluding those associated solely to health and safety, is transmitted to the appropriate authorities.
